Connect Arlo Devices to Google
It really isn’t too difficult, but it does take a little bit of time, especially if you have multiple cameras to connect. You might have noticed there are a few of there products missing from the list, like the Arlo Doorbell. Although it might not be compatible right now, I’m sure it won’t be long until it is. We liked that we could use one of the cameras in our son’s nursery, and it didn’t look menacing. The camera quality during the rain wasn’t affected, although we did receive some errant motion notifications when it was raining really heavily. Out of the box, the Arlo was pretty straightforward to set up.

On our Arlo app, we could easily see a library with all of our clips as well as download and share them if we wanted to. The exposure and wide angle are both excellent, and the camera doesn’t miss much. It’s also worth noting that when the motion sensor was triggered, it only took a few seconds for us to receive a notification.
We first downloaded the free Arlo app and created an account for our devices. Then, following the instructions included in the included user guide, we connected the base station to our in-home router using the included LAN cable. Once we turned on our base, we connected it to our Arlo app.
These updates took a few minutes after we synced everything up. Not a big deal, but a strange quirk for a brand new system. Did you pair them to an ecosystem different than Googles? While the Arlo Base Station is optional, we highly recommend installing one, as it will help streamline your video and make it easily available for perusal. At the same time, you can have a conversation at the person at your door with its in built speaker and microphone directly from your smartphone. The feature I like most is the in-built smart siren that can be either triggered by the App or can set to automatically. Whenever the device detects the motion it sends an alert to the phone, if you find this alert to be important then you can trigger the siren which is of 90+ decibel. All your Arlo cameras are now connected to your Google Home.
